Application Procedure

cog-iconEligibility

  • Both female and male candidates are eligible to apply. 10% of the total number of seats will be reserved for admission for male candidates.
  • The candidates, those who have passed 10+2 examination from the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) / Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE) or its equivalent examination as recognized by the CHSE, Odisha with aggregate of 40% marks without extra optional in case of UR candidates and 35% marks in case of SC / ST candidates will be considered for selection.
  • Those who have passed 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English core / Elective or Healthcare Science Vocational stream only, passing out from recognized board under AISSCE / SSCE / HSCE / NIOS are also eligible to apply.
  • Those who have passed 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council may also apply.
  • Those who have passed ANM Training i.e., 10+1 & ½ years training and also have passed +2 or its equivalent examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicant must have completed 17 years and be within 35 years of age as on 31.07.2015. For SC / ST candidates, upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years. For ANMs there is no age bar.
  • The candidate must have passed Odia as a subject at M.E. / H.SC Examination.
  • Must be a permanent resident of Odisha (Declaration as defined in Govt. of Odisha, Home Department Resolution No. 38 – Reforms, dated the 18th January 1949 and the Odisha Misc. Certificate 1984 to be furnished). Candidates shall have to submit a certificate of Permanent Resident ship of Odisha from Competent Authority of the concerned area at the time of submission of application (as defined in clause 10.a.7).
  • Physically Handicapped category candidates should have locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% will be taken in to consideration (as per details in clause 10.a.8(i)).

cog-iconProspectus and Application Form

The prospectus and application form can be obtained from the office of the Principal, Ashwini School of Nursing, near IPSAR Campus, CDA, Sector-1, Cuttack, on payment of Cash / Demand Draft for Rs. 500/-. Demand draft needs to be drawn in Favour of Ashwini School of Nursing payable at Cuttack. DD may be sent by post to Ashwini School of Nursing, Ashwini Hospital, Sector-1, CDA, Cuttack-753014 with a self addressed envelope 4”X9” with Rs. 6/- stamp affixed on the envelope to obtain the application form.

cog-iconSelection Procedure

Selection of the candidates will be decided on the basis of merit judged according to -

  • Career marking of HSC and +2 Arts / Science / Commerce or equivalent examinations.
  • In case more than one candidate having equal marks in above career marking, Inter-se-merit be decided.
  • Candidates must not be pregnant in case of female, must not be mentally ill and must be found physically fit for admission to the course.
  • Candidates to be given preference, other than the above, according to marks secured in English at the qualifying examinations.

Students shall be given stipend of Rs. 4000/- per month (Rupees four thousand only) during the Internship period based on his / her actual attendance in the Internship training.

In case a candidate fails to qualify herself / himself in the 1st preliminary examination, she / he may be given maximum two more chances failing which her / his admission will be cancelled and she / he will be debarred from training.

Merit Scholarships will be awarded to meritorious students on the basis of their performance in the first and second annual examinations. Part or whole of tuition fees in the first year may be exempted to exceptionally brilliant students as per criteria laid down by the management.

  • The Odisha Nurses and Midwifery Examination Board will conduct the final board examination of first, second and third year. Students shall pay required fee for examination, mark sheets, registration of their names in Odisha Nurses and midwifery council.
  • The school will conduct term examinations on regular basis. The school will conduct the final examination at the end of internship period. Qualifying at the school examination of internship is a pre-requisite for awarding Diploma. The students shall bear actual expenditure to be incurred if any.
